Our day begins after a hearty breakfast at 07;00am, as we embark on a journey to Materuni village
nestled on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. This remarkable village, devoid of common tourist trappings, offers
an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in Tanzanian culture. Your odyssey commences with a
captivating stroll through a coffee plantation, where you’ll gain insights into the intricacies of coffee
cultivation. Take the opportunity to actively participate in the art of roasting, pounding, and grinding
your own coffee. Next, you’ll venture to Materuni Waterfalls. Along this enchanting path, you’ll traverse
plantations brimming with local fruits and lush vegetation. As you delve deeper into the heart of the
village, you’ll not only absorb knowledge about the local culture but also engage in some of the
community’s customary activities. Concluding your day trip, delight in a rejuvenating dip in the pristine
waterfall pool, followed by a delectable lunch in a lunch box in the afternoon. After lunch eventually, it
will be time to return to your lodge in Arusha or Moshi, leaving behind cherished memories of Materuni.

  • Weather:Dry Season (June to October): This is the best time to visit Materuni if you prefer drier weather.
    During these months, you can expect mild temperatures during the day, typically ranging from
    20-25°C (68-77°F). Nights can be cooler, with temperatures dropping to around 10-15°C (50-
    59°F). Rainfall is minimal during this period.
     Wet Season (November to May): The wet season in Materuni brings more rainfall. Daytime
    temperatures can still be pleasant, ranging from 20-25°C (68-77°F). However, the nights may be
    colder during this season, with temperatures around 5-10°C (41-50°F). Rainfall is more frequent,
    with occasional heavy showers.
  • Elevation; approximately 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) above sea level. This elevation provides a pleasant
    climate and lush surroundings, making it an excellent destination for hiking and outdoor activities.
