A group departure follows a fixed itinerary and date with a small group of fellow travelers. You share the vehicle and guide, which reduces costs significantly. A private safari gives you exclusive use of the vehicle and guide, with more flexibility in schedule and itinerary.
Who typically joins group departures?+
Our group departures attract solo travelers, couples, and small groups from around the world. Ages range from mid-20s to retirees. The common thread is a love of adventure and a desire to experience Africa with like-minded people.
Is there a single supplement for solo travelers?+
No. We do not charge single supplements on any of our group departures. Solo travelers pay the same price as everyone else and receive their own room.
How many people are in a group?+
Our groups are limited to a maximum of 8 guests. This ensures everyone has a window seat in the safari vehicle, personal attention from the guide, and an intimate experience.
What if I want more flexibility than a group departure offers?+
If you prefer a more flexible schedule or have specific destinations in mind, we recommend a private or custom safari. You can still join a group for part of your trip and extend privately.
Can I join a group departure if I am traveling solo?+
Absolutely. Many of our guests join group departures solo. It is a fantastic way to meet fellow travelers, share the experience, and keep costs down.
